While in NJ it is always good to visit one of the many diners. Our favorite is the Red Lion Diner. Outside of the diner is a giant lion. The girls wanted there picture with it...
I reminded them about this...
...this was there response...notice the giggling
Our trip wouldn't be complete without a trip to the park. Charlotte was all over the place, visiting the port of potty and running from thing to thing. I don't have as many pictures of her at the park. Drea on the other hand was setting up a photo shoot at every piece of equipment...enjoy!
Just swinging
Drea was so excited to cross these monkey bars, she couldn't do it last year
Of course all beach trips have to include riding the rides. Our trip was no different. The only differences I see now is the girls are starting to want to try some of the bigger rides. We started with the giant Ferris Wheel as a family and then graduated to the log ride. Charlotte picked it to ride as we were riding the Ferris Wheel. Drea wasn't to sure about it, but went anyway. Charlotte loved it, Drea not so much. It probably didn't help matters that Drea and I sat in the front, it didn't matter either way for Charlotte, as she decided to ride again. As a kid this was the first "big" ride that I rode on, so it was fun getting to experience it with them. Even though Drea didn't enjoy it as much, I know she will try it again.

As a kid I was not a big fan of Ocean City. Don't ask me why, I am not really sure. I mean, some of it may have to do with the fact that we also vacation in Wildwood, NJ and that was more family oriented. When we went to OC it was usually just, my Mom, me and my sister, Karen, and my grandmother, Ellen Davis. Ellen was my Mom's mother. When we went to Wildwood, it was the entire family including my Dad's parents and cousins, as well. If I had to pick a reason for liking Wildwood more, I would say that would be the reason. Fast forward to now, and I feel completely different. I love Ocean City, NJ. It's great. For all of my blog readers, you know we have vacationed there before. For those of you looking for a new place to vacation and if you love the beach, try Ocean City, you will not be disappointed. All that being said, the girls and I took a day trip to Ocean City and again, we had a wonderful time. Seriously, it's the beach how can we not. Even with just a day to visit, it was my favorite part of the trip. If I don't retire in a cabin in the woods somewhere, it'll be at the beach...

Over the past week the girls and I took our vacation to several different places. We visited friends and family and we had lots of fun. We started our vacation by visiting my Mom in NJ. Our first day trip was going to visit the Garden State Discovery Museum. Here is the link to the museum.... http://www.discoverymuseum.com/ The girls had a wonderful time. I was not planning on going, but Drea suggested that we go and since we didn't have anything else planned we went...

Sunday marked Drea's dance recital. The Dance Recital always makes for a long week of practice and a long show. Just like every year, though all the hard work usually pays off and everyone puts on a great show. The hardest part for me during this year's show was Charlotte falling asleep on my lap. She was so warm and snuggly, that I could have just closed my eyes and napped right along with her. However, I did not. I have been in Fairmont for quite some time now, so I know enough people and kids to make it easier to sit though a recital because I know most of the dancers. But enough already, here's the cutest little dancer from the show...
Here are the videos of her dancing. I don't recall her dancing and being this happy. I do not know if you can tell in the video, but she was grinning from ear to ear. Also, I do not remember the last time she was this happy and that made it worth it.
