Oh, those crazy girls

Periodically, I like to share some of the things the girls are doing.  Sometimes they are into something new, while other times they still are enjoying the same old things.  Regardless of what is going on with them, it usually is one helluva ride.  I would have to admit at times they get the better of me, but at the end of the day, I am happy with the relationship that we share.  It isn't perfect, but it doesn't have to be.  I know I could do better and sometimes it is just trial and error.  Lately, I feel like I have leaned more towards errors.  I got great advice recently in dealing with some of their issues and frankly, mine.  For me, I understand my reactions better, for them, well let's just say, 7 and 4.  All of that sums it up for me.  I digress, onto my post and those smart, beautiful, wonderful, funny, wild, and crazy girls.

Drea:
  • Drea has recently discovered youtube.  This can be scary because there is a lot of stuff out there that I do not want her to see.  At the same time with monitoring her, it hasn't been bad.  She has been watching two things, how to play Super Mario and Monster High.

  • The funny thing about the Monster High video watching is there are tons of videos of kids playing and acting out scenes with their dolls.  So of course Drea had to do it too.  She has her own "Monster High Movie", on youtube now.  It is like 14 parts long, if you care to view it, let me know and I'll send you a link...make sure you have popcorn.

  • I am a list person.  I always have a grocery list.  On occasion someone will add things to the list.  My cousin, Kristi, always adds, a cat, kitten, puppy, or dog.  Jody adds, well, I can't really say what she adds, this is a family blog.  Trust me she adds items.  I guess Drea wanted to get in on the act.  I was going though my shopping list and added in purple marker were three words....Monster High Dolls.

  • Drea is still quite the artist.  She loves art more then any other specialist at school.  She is always excited when our kiwicrate comes every month.  She has gone to the Starving Artist in Clarksburg several times to painting class.  She just amazes me.
Charlotte:
  • Charlotte certainly beats her drum to a different beat.  This week at preschool, they asked the kids what they wanted to be when they grew up.  Every kid in her class answered, doctor, vet, policeman, trooper, etc...real jobs.  Charlotte's response, "Ariel"

  • Charlotte is always carrying something, somewhere.  She is always packing a bag and taking things with her.  Today, it was a big doll, two monster high dolls, a kangaroo, a raccoon, a movie, and a ruler.  She is like a bag lady, sometimes without the bag.  Luckily she carries a backpack to school.  She never forgets what she brings either.  I do not how many times we get in the car and she says, "Wait, we forgot...blah, blah, blah...insert whatever item.

  • She is a smart cookie.  She struggles with her letters, letter sounds, and numbers still, but she is pretty witty and knows alot.  One of my favorite things she struggles with is her speech.  Don't get me wrong, I do want her to get better and I know she will, but it is so cute.  She still says, Goggie, instead of doggie.  My favorite one recently is Moe-ma-got.  Which simply means she forgot.  Another reason, I like it so much is probably because it sounds like she is cursing.  Then again, it is Charlotte so she probably is cursing.

  • I wrestle around with the girls quite often and it has come to my attention that Charlotte is tough, but also quite mean.  She has no problem being rough.  Without fail, she always, pulls my ears and beard.  She certainly has no problem handling herself.
Both Girls:
  • Since I am writing about wrestling around with the girls, I figured now is a good time to talk about our tickle fights.  I've written about them before... http://wvniessners.blogspot.com/2012/07/the-girls.html ... and now the game has evolved into so much more.  The girls don't even call it tickle fight anymore.  It is now called Run Tickle.  The game also includes a safe zone and things I can not do as the tickler.  My favorite part, is when they want their friends and cousins to play. I guess it's that fun.

  • They adore jumping on my bed.  I think it is more of jumping on the bed and trying to see themselves in the mirror.  Or jumping on the bed, looking in the mirror and singing.

  • I officially have more stuffed animals in my room, then they have in their rooms.  I have a nice collection on my night stand.

  • My absolute favorite thing they both are doing, is when they call to talk to me, they tell me how much they miss me.  It melts my heart.
So for those of you that are not on circles, I will share this video of the girls searching for gold on St. Patrick's Day.  They are funny, and I still haven't figured out why girls scream when they are excited....Enjoy!
