When I was a kid my parents always took us to new places. That was one of my favorite things growing up. I loved those experiences and it helped give me a sense of adventure. I want the girls to have that same experience, so I came up with the idea of going to New York. At first, my thought was just to take them and sight see. Then after talking to my Mom and the girls, the idea of taking them to the American Girl store came to mind. So with Noni's help we planned our trip. We had a wonderful day in the city and we managed to see a few sites along the way. At one point, Drea said, "Daddy, did we see all of New York?" I told her we could visit for a year and we would probably never see all of New York. Needless to say I am planning another trip, but for now here is our pictures of yesterday's adventure.

Waiting to get on the train to go to NYC |

Notice in most of the pictures the girls have to pose, just like always |

Waiting to board the train |

The girls occupied their time on the train by looking though the American Girl catalog |

Then they marked what they wanted |

Eating lunch at the American Girl store |

We arrived right on time for our reservation. So the girls didn't get to pick out their doll until after lunch. I think it was the longest lunch ever for them. The cool thing was they gave them dolls to sit with while they ate. |

This was the desert plate. The girls didn't eat a bite of it because they were ready to shop. I didn't get any pictures of them shopping because there was wall to wall people and they were so excited bouncing from one place to the next. |

This is a fountain Drea wanted to stop and see. Obviously, Char fell asleep. Don't tell her Drea got ice cream while she was sleeping. |

Enjoying the day |

Go figure Minnie Mouse and Puss in Boots. The crazy thing was they were on every corner, I don't know how they did it. Again, don't tell Charlotte she was sleeping still. |

This is a giant Ferris wheel in Toys R Us |

Someone finally woke up and we rode on the Ferris wheel with their dolls |

Jealous! Looks like you guys had a blast and I can NOT believe how grown up Drea is looking... Kalee just took her first trip to the American girl store here in Atlanta - she loved it, too!
I have to mention that on the pic of Madison Square Garden, my feet were starting to really kill! Even so I don't want to miss a thing - was just born nosey! Noni
